As a Server (Backend) Engineer in our Biz Engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our backend services. You will work closely with our team to ensure the seamless operation of our applications and services, and will have the flexibility to contribute to a wide range of projects.

 

Responsibilities

  1. Build new service components for Taiwan and Global market.
  2. Design and build core backend software components for messaging, advertising, Social Graph, and Partnership platform.
  3. Create APIs and services that allow third parties to integrate with and utilize LINE platform
  4. Participate in code reviews to maintain high-quality code
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on large-scale projects
  6. Work closely with our development teams in Japan, Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in software development, with a strong focus on solving complex problems.
  • Passions for solving the world’s toughest problems, and the ability to solve them.
  • Strong programming skills in Java, Kotlin, and Golang
  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related fields.
  • Experience in building distributed services and handling big data is preferred.
  • Familiarity with databases, both relational and non-relational
  • Fluent in English. Speaking in Japanese or Korean will be a plus.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud environments, distributed systems, and microservices architecture
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
  • Strong programming skills in Python
