Join the engineering team behind LINE Messenger, one of the world's most widely used communication platforms. As a Senior Android Engineer, you'll do more than write code—you'll work closely with Product Managers, Designers, Backend Engineers, and engineering teams across Taiwan, Japan, and Korea to turn ideas into features that reach tens of millions of users. You'll build and evolve large-scale Android products, from LINE Messenger features to Taiwan-focused local services delivered within LINE or as standalone apps, and see your work make a visible, meaningful impact on products people rely on every day.
Responsibilities
- Drive Android feature development from requirement discussions to production release.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Backend Engineers, and global engineering teams to ship products.
- Build and maintain features in a large-scale, modular Android codebase, including LINE Messenger and Taiwan-focused local services delivered within LINE or as standalone apps.
- Improve application performance, code quality, and maintainability.
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical decision-making
Qualifications
- Experience developing AI-powered features or integrating AI tools and workflows into the software development lifecycle.
- Experience building and maintaining large-scale Android applications is a strong plus.
- Ownership mindset: proactively solve problems and drive technical discussions with cross-functional teams.
- 5+ years of Android development experience, building and maintaining production applications.
- Strong Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and MVVM skills with experience in modern Android development.
- Experience with Coroutines and modularized Android applications.
- Experience with Unit Testing and CI/CD.
- Strong communication skills and comfortable collaborating with global teams in English.
Nice to have:
- Application performance analysis, metrics, and optimization experience.
- Experience applying Clean Architecture to design or improve maintainable applications.
- UI Testing with Espresso or Robolectric.
- GitHub Actions or Jenkins experience.
- Flutter development experience.
