LINE Careers

We are looking for ML Engineer interns who enjoy reading research papers and turning them into working models. You will join LINE Taiwan's Data Dev team, pick one research track tied to a live business problem, and take it from literature survey to an evaluated prototype, working with data scientists and engineers on large-scale data from LINE services.

 

Responsibility

• Survey and critically review recent papers for an assigned business problem; summarize trade-offs and propose which ideas are worth trying.
• Reproduce baselines and develop deep learning models or LLM-based agents on large-scale internal data.
• Design rigorous evaluations (offline metrics, baselines, ablations, significance tests) and report both positive and negative results.
• Work with data scientists and engineers to turn successful experiments into prototypes and APIs for LINE Taiwan services such as advertising, Official Accounts, and content.
• Share findings through internal paper-reading sessions and technical documentation

 

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
• Solid ML / DL fundamentals: able to explain why a model or method was chosen over the alternatives.
• Hands-on experience in either: training and evaluating deep learning models with PyTorch, or building and evaluating LLM-based systems (e.g., agents, RAG).
• Experience reading research papers and reproducing their results.
• Able to communicate technical work clearly in English, written and spoken.
• Uses AI coding assistants responsibly: can verify, debug, and explain the code they produce.

 

Working Period: 2027/03-2028/02, at least 3 days a week, student identify required.
