We are looking for a Backend / Applied AI Intern who is passionate about exploring emerging AI technologies and turning them into practical solutions. Beyond using AI for coding, we encourage interns to proactively identify opportunities, experiment with AI tools and workflows, and apply them to real LINE TODAY challenges across engineering, content operations, advertising, and product development.

Responsibility

Explore, propose, and implement AI-powered solutions to improve engineering workflows, operational efficiency, business processes, and product experiences.
Develop backend services, APIs, automation tools, and AI integrations to support real-world use cases.
Experiment with LLMs, AI agents, MCP, and other emerging technologies to create practical solutions.
Collaborate with engineers, planners, and business stakeholders to validate ideas, integrate solutions, and share findings through demonstrations and clear technical documentation.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
* Currently pursuing a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science, AI, or a related field.
* Basic programming skills in Java, or similar languages, with an understanding of APIs and software development fundamentals.
* Hands-on experience using AI tools to solve problems, with the ability to evaluate, verify, and improve AI-generated results.
* Strong curiosity, initiative, and willingness to experiment with new technologies.
* Good problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience building AI-powered applications, agents, or automated workflows using LLMs, MCP, RAG, or related technologies.
* Experience with backend development, databases, cloud services, or system integrations.
* Personal projects demonstrating practical AI applications beyond basic AI-assisted coding.
* Ability to identify inefficiencies and develop reusable, automated solutions.
* nterest in content platforms, recommendation systems, digital advertising, or product innovation..

Working Period: 2027/03-2028/02, at least 3 days a week, student identify required.
