We are looking for a savvy Data Engineer with technical backgrounds in data system and platform development. The hire will be responsible for expanding and optimizing our data and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data flow and collection for cross functional teams. Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance data pipeline architecture specifically for Taiwan, ensuring seamless integration with our global platform.

  • Design and construct core backend software components to support the LINE family of services.

  • Identify, design, and implement enhancements to internal data processes, focusing on automating manual tasks and optimizing data delivery.

  • Create analytics tools that leverage the data pipeline to generate insights into customer needs, improve operational efficiency, and measure key business performance.

  • Compile large, complex datasets that fulfill both functional and non-functional business requirements.

  • Collaborate closely with our development teams in Tokyo and Seoul.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

  • Proficiency in English.

  • Strong passion for tackling complex global challenges and demonstrated ability to craft solutions. Extensive experience in programming languages such as Java, Python, or similar.

  • Preferably experienced in developing distributed services and managing big data.

  • Familiarity with big data tools and stream-processing systems like Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, or Spark Streaming.

  • Proven experience in applying machine learning techniques to address real-world challenges.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building and optimizing "big data" data pipelines, architectures and data sets

  • Analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.

  • Competence in using machine learning tools and libraries such as Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
