LINE E-Commerce team is the strategic business unit behind LINE SHOPPING Thailand, a thriving internal initiative to establish social-based e-commerce for the Thai market on LINE, one of the biggest messenger services across the globe. With the vision of democratizing entrepreneurship by empowering independent sellers to build a business and compete, accessing LINE's social graph and commerce technologies to create their own Direct-to-Consumer channels and fanbase for long-term repeatable and referable sales, we aim to be thought leaders and pioneers in the next era of independent sales channels and social-based and relationship-based commerce worldwide.

 

Position Overview

We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Director of E-Commerce to lead LINE SHOPPING through its next phase of growth and evolution. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in managing current operations, driving monetization strategies, and enabling product discovery and direction, steering the business unit towards its full potential as a market creator and leader by leading product, tech, and go-to-market teams towards the same goals.

 

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute high-quality business strategies and plans aligned with short-term and long-term objectives, including both product and go-to-market initiatives
  • Financial Management: Take charge of the service's P&L (Profit and Loss) to make the business sustainable by driving new business initiatives, maximizing potential revenue opportunities, managing the cost and resources, etc.
  • Product Development: Guide the product development direction, ensuring alignment with market needs and anticipating future trends, and take an active role in identifying the next stage of growth for LINE SHOPPING
  • Execution Management: Oversee all service operations, development, and business activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission
  • Effective Leadership: Foster a solution-focused, results-driven collaborative work environment that allows employees from different functions and departments to actively work towards company-wide goals; lead and motivate subordinates to advance employee engagement and develop a high-performing managerial and leadership team
  • Team Leadership: Oversee a team of over 150-200 employees from various functions, including product, engineering, UX design, key account management, sales, marketing, and multiple-tier support
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Effectively collaborate with stakeholders within LINE not only in Thailand but also on a global scale, fostering collaborative relationships to support the service's growth and future possibilities
  • Market Insight: Understand the market dynamics in e-commerce and stay tuned for industry trends, navigate changes, and embrace new services

 

Qualifications

  • Proven results in a senior leadership role within a high-growth e-commerce or social commerce company or a highly related role
  • Experience in a growth-stage startup environment as well as a large corporation with multiple stakeholders preferred
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities
  • Understanding of market segments and dynamics in e-commerce, i., social commerce, e-marketplace players, website builders, alternative commerce, etc.
  • Strong understanding of commerce P&L operations including monetization strategies and activities
  • Track record of successfully leading teams and driving results in a dynamic and competitive market
  • Familiarity with all business functions in a company including but not limited to marketing, sales, finance, and HR
  • Domain knowledge in commerce-specific roles on both business operations and tech stack such as merchant acquisition and retention, performance marketing, buyer journey tracking, category management, affiliates, partnership management, vendor management, tech product development and management,
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, both within the organization and externally
  • Effective communication skills in aligning the direction of the service within internal teams
  • Excellent command of both Thai and English
